Flagstone

Flagstone is a form of sandstone derived from sedimentary rock split from layers along a bedding plane. This is why the rock is typically in similar thicknesses and large flat surfaces. We source our Flagstone from quarries located right here in Georgia as well as from surrounding states of Tennessee, North Carolina but even as far away as Arizona. Color variations are boundless from tans, grays, browns, red and even more exotic colors can be found.

You will mostly find Flagstone utilized in patio/walkway application. However, there many other applications such as fireplace hearths, stepping stones, wall veneers, column and wall capping, dry-stack, edging and retaining.

Helpful Hint: Coverage for Flagstone depends on thickness and application. A good guide is as follows per ton of stone:

Under 1″ thick = 30-40sf Stack and 175-200sf Flat
1″ to 1 3/4″ Thick = 30-40sf Stack and 100-125sf Flat
1 3/4″ to 2 1/2″ thick = 30-40sf Stack and 75-100sf Flat
